We are pleased to announce that we now have a defibrillator for use on the Picton Centre, adjacent to the Picton Playing Fields, County Hall and the Skatepark . It is mounted on the outer wall of Picton Centre, as shown in the photos below.

Please familiarise yourself with it’s position so you know where it is in case of emergency.

According to the British Heart Foundation, the high energy shock that is produced by defibrillators plays an essential role in trying the save the life of someone who is in cardiac arrest – for every minute that it takes for the equipment to reach someone and deliver a shock, their chances of survival reduce by up to 10%.  With this new public access defibrillator being available within our town, we view this as an essential precautionary measure that could truly save lives.
